Tina Allen is dedicated to raising the consciousness of people around the world. She articulates expressively with warmth and humor, the importance of preserving the African American culture and the potential for greater contributions by future generations. In the tradition of the Harlem Renaissance, this classically trained sculptor has dedicated her growing body of work to preserving the African American contribution to American life in bronze. Ms. Allen's historic representational works are among the largest depictions of African Americans in the world. Ms. Allen is based in Los Angeles.

VISIT: Extensive visits to South Africa in hope of developing the "Nelson Mandela Monument". Project was shut down due to the AIDS Crisis in South Africa. President Mandela felt World contributions and focus should remain on the AIDS crisis and not on commemorating him

George Washington Carver
Ms. Allen is currently working on a life size statue of George Washington Carver for the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis Mo. Carver is a native of Missouri although he did his major work at Tuskegee Institute.

Nat "King" Cole Monument
Ms. Allen is also working on a Monumental size statue of Nat King Cole for Alabama State University in Montgomery AL. ASU has relocated King's childhood home onto the campus to be restored as a museum.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
Ms. Allen recently installed and unveiled a 12 foot bronze statue for dark Count) (Las Vegas), Nevada, Jan. 20th, 2001. The statue sits on an eight foot fountain base.

Sojourner Truth Memorial Statues
On September 25, 1999, Ms. Allen unveiled a 12-foot bronze monument of Sojourner Truth in Battle Creek, MI. The statue depicts Sojourner Truth in mature old age and historic costume. She stands in a choice location, Memorial Park, across from City Hall. The site of this historic statue features a colonnade of pillars and amphitheater seating. The unveiling ceremony was attended by 3000 people, featured a 3 day citywide celebration. Another twenty-fool Sojourner Truth Memorial is planned for Brooklyn, New York. The monumental statue of the antislavery activist is planned grandly holding a torch. The statue will show Sojourner Truth in her mid-life.

Large Free-Standing Abstract Statue Called "Dream Catcher".
This fifteen foot high statue was designed for the newly constructed EDD Building in Los Angeles. The formal unveiling was held in LA on May 25th, 2000.

The Alex Haley Memorial
Ms. Allen sculpted a 5-ton, 13-foot seated bronze monument of Pulitzer Prize winning author Ales Haley for Knoxville, Tennessee. The life like Alex Haley Memorial Bronze Statue is located in its own Haley Heritage Square Park, on the slopes overlooking downtown Knoxville and facing the Great Smoky Mountains. The active tourist attraction also features a children's park and amphitheater for theatrical performances. The formal dedication was celebrated on April 24,1998 and covered by the prestigious CBS Sunday Morning television program hosted by Charles Osgood and Bill Whitaker. The star-studded, city supported event was hosted by Academy Award winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr. Members of the Haley family anc 1,500 visitors from around the United States were among the numerous guests. "Alex Haley, America's Storyteller" was the theme of the event and a picture of the monument was used as cover of the yellow pages.

The Ralph Bunche Memorial
Ms. Allen has sculpted a larger than life-size 150 pound bronze bust of Ralph Bunche, the firs African American to receive the Nobel Peace Prize and a key founder and key diplomat of the United Nations. The bust was unveiled at the United Nations, located in Geneva, Switzerland, in August 1998 and was a gift of the United States of America.

The Four Story High Great Wall of Compton
On January 15, 1998, Sculptor Allen unveiled a 42 x 32 foot poured cement pictorial relief of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr. and blood preservation founder Dr. Charles Drew. The site is the $58 million newly opened King Drew Magnet High School in Compton, California.

The Balkans Trade Mission Memorial
Ms. Allen has sculpted a life size bust of the late Commerce Secretary Ron Brown and commemorative dedication to his colleagues for the Rotunda of the Commerce Department in Washington, D.C... The memorial features a 7-foot bronze flag mounted on a polished black granite base, golden relief stars and stripes with the names and contributions of those lost in the tragic airplane crash, dedications written by the families. Dedication was held April, 2000.

Ms. Allen's historical sculptures include a life size bust of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, a nine and one-half foot seated statue of Black labor leader A. Philip Randolph, a seven-foot high statue of New York's first Black fire chief Wesley Williams, a life-size bus of Marcus Garvey for Jamaica, West Indies, and a bust of Malcolm X, to name a few. Some other collectors include President Nelson Mandela, Selma Burk, Denzel Washington, Lionel Richie, Angela Bassett, Elie Weisel, Robert DeNiro, Robert Guillaume, Debbie Allen Muhammad Ali, Alex Haley, Bill Cosby, Harry Belafonte, Jheryl Busby, Sidney Poitier, Samuel L. Jackson, The Schaumburg Center, Pratt Institute, African American Museum, Absolut Vodka (Absolut Allen).
